SLANEY VS. SODASTEAL is an emo breakcore album by Operation Sodasteal.

The album consists of vocals and guitars by Slaney and ecstatic production by Kaj Strife, as well as rapped vocals on several songs. Some exceptions exist, such as "DESCENT2EARTH" being produced by Slaney and "KILL YOURSELF" mostly being written by Kaj. The closing track, "THE FLIES", eschews rave production, though a remix was included as a bonus track. Stems were also released.

Production began shortly after Slaney fell to Kaj's homeland on the planet Bad Egg and was locally released days before the Obelisk Storm. Following the band members' deaths, the album was bootlegged by unlucky wind and released on Earth on December 7, 2022. A run of cassette tapes followed next year, as well as CDs courtesy of Happy Face Records.

Artwork

The album's cover was drawn by Slaney in Art Alive! for the Sega Genesis, arranged within skeuomorphic Mac OS Sex windows over another piece of digital art by Slaney.

An alternate cover depicts trollface Kaj in a window over an edit of Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog.

Videos

A music video for TUMBLR SEXYMAN was released on September 11, 2022 as part of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Trade Center. When the album was released, the music video was also re-released with the album version of the song. An animated video for MARTYR (MARTYR) by Flash animator HawtDogull was released on May 18, 2023.

A video breaking down most of the samples used in SLANEY VS SODASTEAL as well as Blokus Trigon was published by Kaj on September 11, 2023.
